Job summary

SCNITS Australia in Melbourne is seeking a capable Software Engineer to design, build and maintain modern applications across a range of technologies, with a growing focus on AI/ML. You will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure and high-performing solutions that meet real business needs.

The role involves building RESTful APIs, integrating with SQL/NoSQL databases, deploying to AWS or Azure, and applying AI capabilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, software engineering, or related field.
At least 3 years' commercial experience in software design, development and testing.
Strong Python skills; experience with Node.js, React or C#/.NET.
Experience designing APIs and working with relational databases.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical designs.
Design, build and maintain RESTful APIs, and integrate with SQL/NoSQL databases.
Implement AI capabilities, including LLM integrations, chatbots and automated workflows.
Prepare data and train/evaluate ML models for prediction and analytics.
Deploy and manage applications in AWS or Azure with CI/CD pipelines.
Write unit and integration tests and resolve defects promptly.
Participate in code reviews and uphold code quality, security and performance.
Create and maintain technical documentation, tests and user guides.
Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing systems.
