Job summary

CORTO is hiring a Software Engineer to join our AI and Automation Team in Sydney. You will develop and mainta in APIs powering document ingestion and integrations of our Core AI platform, contributing to scalable microservices and cloud-native architectures.

The role focuses on building robust backend services, enhancing RAG pipelines with LLMs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact AI-powered features for legal practitioners.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software engineering experience building RESTful APIs.
• Strong foundation in modern backend languages and a willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain multiple microservices central to document ingestion and integrations.
• Maintain and enhance Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines that connect enterprise knowledge sources with Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Prototype and experiment with new AI techniques, ensuring alignment with best practices and industry standards.
• Build and manage scalable cloud infrastructure (serverless compute, event queues, managed containers, NoSQL/relational storage).
• Optimise code and system architecture for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver efficient solutions.
