Job summary

CORTO is a fast-growing software company in Sydney that builds AI-powered legal tech. We design and implement APIs, microservices, and AI-driven workflows to automate document handling and knowledge retrieval. You will work with a highly technical team to scale our Core AI platform.

The role focuses on building robust backend services, enhancing RAG pipelines, and deploying scalable cloud infrastructure, with a collaborative, hybrid work model in a dynamic legal tech environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software engineering experience building RESTful APIs and production-grade software.
• Strong foundation in at least one modern backend language (C#, Python, Java, Go, or Node.js).
• Solid understanding of software architecture, event-driven designs, and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain multiple microservices central to document ingestion and integrations.
• Maintain and enhance Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines connecting enterprise knowledge sources with LLMs.
• Prototype and experiment with new AI techniques ensuring alignment with best practices.
• Build and manage scalable cloud infrastructure (serverless, queues, containers, NoSQL/SQL storage).
• Optimize code and system architecture for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver efficient solutions.
