Job summary

L3Harris Australia is seeking a versatile Software Engineer to join lean delivery teams in Fremantle. You’ll contribute across the full software lifecycle from requirements through production support, primarily using .NET/C# with embedded C/C++ knowledge as a bonus.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of software experience, tertiary qualifications in Engineering or CS, and the ability to obtain Australian Defence NV1 clearance.

Responsibilities

• Full lifecycle delivery from requirements and architecture through design, implementation, testing, deployment and production support.
• Collaborate within small lean delivery teams (5–7 people).

About the role

We are seeking a versatile Software Engineer with experience across modern technology stacks, primarily .NET, with embedded experience (C/C++) a bonus. The role is part of small (5 to 7) lean delivery teams involving full lifecycle delivery—from requirements and architecture through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing production support.

The ideal candidate brings strong skills in task planning, technical risk management, and modern development practices, with hands‑on experience in Git-based workflows and DevSecOps toolchains.

About you

To be successful in this role and to best leverage the opportunities provided by L3Harris, some skills & experience ideal applicants will bring include;

• Expert proficiency with C# and .NET

• Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant Discipline

• 2+years relevant software engineering experience

• Working knowledge of databases, scripting, embedded programming or cloud technologies

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Highly developed critical thinking and problem solving in complex environments

• Able to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security clearance to NV1
