Job summary

Northrop Grumman Australia is seeking engineers to design, develop and support secure communications software within a defence-focused environment. You will work with experienced engineers to build and modernise complex systems, contributing across the software lifecycle from design to deployment.

The role values hands-on problem solving, Linux development, and experience with languages like Java, C, C++, Python or JavaScript, plus exposure to embedded systems or secure communications.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Linux environments and software development.
  • Proficiency in Java, C, C++, Python or JavaScript.
  • Experience with Software Configuration Management and Agile delivery.
  • Knowledge of networked, distributed and secure systems.
  • Willingness to tackle unfamiliar technical challenges and learn.
  • Experience with embedded systems or firmware development valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Day to day, you'll work with experienced engineers to develop, improve and support a complex secure communications solution.

About You

you'll bring a software engineering background and enjoy solving technical problems that don't always have an obvious answer. We're interested in people who have experience with some of the following:

  • Linux environments and software development.
  • Java, C, C++, Python or JavaScript.
  • Software Configuration Management, JIRA and Agile delivery environments.
  • Networked, distributed and/or secure systems.
  • Working through unfamiliar technical challenges and learning new technologies.
  • Experience with embedded systems, firmware development, Linux kernel technologies or secure communications would be valued, but isn't essential.

Most importantly, you'll be curious, pragmatic and comfortable stepping outside your immediate area of expertise when needed.
