Job summary

Northrop Grumman Australia is seeking a senior leader to head the Engineering & Technical Services function within the C-27J Program in Brisbane. This role delivers strategic and operational leadership of a large technical workforce, ensuring safe, compliant delivery of engineering services in a dynamic defence environment.

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience leading and developing large multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through complexity and deliver outcomes in fast-paced environments.
  • Strategic mindset with strong operational execution capability.
  • Experience within Defence, aerospace, aviation or another highly regulated industry is highly regarded.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships across customers, program leadership, engineering teams and key operational stakeholders.
  • Oversee planning, prioritisation, scheduling, resource management and reporting across a diverse portfolio of engineering activities.
  • Drive workforce planning, capability development and succession planning to support current and future business needs.
  • Work collaboratively across engineering, maintenance, supply chain, flight operations, training and capability development functions to achieve integrated outcomes.
  • Lead the delivery of critical engineering and airworthiness services while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and compliance.
  • Manage risk, issues and opportunities, ensuring effective governance, reporting and decision-making.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance engineering systems, processes and business performance.

Security Requirements
  • Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain and maintain, an NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance.

As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable, as such your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
