Job summary

Buildcert is seeking a Software Developer to design, develop and implement high-quality software solutions for its in-house projects. You will work with TypeScript, React and Node.js to deliver features and integrations for a growing business.

Reporting to the Development Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure performance and security, and contribute to architecture and coding standards within a small, fast-moving team.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in web development with modern stacks.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, React and Node.js is a bonus.
• Ability to design and implement API integrations and scalable solutions.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, testing and secure coding practices.

We have an exciting opportunity for aSoftware Developer to work on our in-house software development projects.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with expert knowledge of TypeScript, React, and Node.js. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our growing business.

Reporting to theDevelopment Manager, your day to day will include:

• Develop and maintain web applications using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Design and architecture of complex software systems.
• Work with our developers to improve our time-to-ship, DX (by advocating for your favourite dev tools, agent harnesses, version control strategies... etc.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party and government systems.
• Own development work from technical discovery and solution design through to testing and production delivery.
• Investigate complex production issues and identify root causes across internal and external systems.
• Design scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Improve the performance, reliability and security of Fynd's platform.
• Work closely with the Development Manager and business stakeholders to translate commercial and compliance requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to technical architecture and development standards.
• Review code and support quality development practices across the team.
• Identify opportunities to improve developer experience and time-to-ship.
• Effectively use modern AI and agentic engineering tools as part of the development workflow.

We are seeking an individual who thrives on conquering technical challenges and engineering brilliant solutions for our users. You will bring to the role:

• 2 - 5 years of experience in software development in web technologies (experience in TypeScript, React, and Node.js is a bonus)
• Qualifications in a related field.
• Strong understanding of the full software development life cycle.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong self-management and/or project management skills.
• Work rights to legally work in Australia, no opportunity for sponsorship.
• Strong experience designing, building and maintaining API integrations.
• Experience working with REST APIs, with SOAP/XML experience highly regarded.
• Experience taking features and integrations from technical investigation through to production delivery.
• Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills, particularly across third-party integrations.
• Sound understanding of software architecture, application security and secure development practices.
• Experience with automated testing and modern development workflows.
• Ability to independently interpret technical documentation and unfamiliar system specifications.
• Strong self-management and ability to work effectively in a small, fast-moving development team.
• Clear communication skills and ability to explain technical risks, constraints and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
