Job summary

NCS Australia is seeking a talented Software Developer (Level 2) to join a collaborative Agile development team. You will contribute to design, development, maintenance and support of innovative software solutions across the full SDLC.

As a Software Developer (Level 2), you will work with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, participate in design activities, support sprint commitments, and help ensure high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in a software development environment.
  • Experience with C++, C#, .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Experience using NUnit for testing.
  • Experience with Git version control.
  • Understanding of relational database design and development.
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies and Agile software delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to software development, maintenance and testing activities.
  • Support design initiatives under guidance of senior team members.
  • Produce technical documentation and design specifications.
  • Participate in Agile/SCRUM ceremonies and sprint deliverables.
  • Deliver high-quality software solutions with strong testing practices.
  • Provide second-level technical support to product integration teams.
  • Collaborate to identify and resolve technical issues.

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Software Developer (Level 2) to join a collaborative Agile development team, working on the design, development, maintenance, and support of innovative software solutions.

This role offers the opportunity to work across the full software development lifecycle while learning from experienced engineers and contributing to meaningful projects in a dynamic and team-focused environment.

As a Software Developer (Level 2), you will contribute to the development, enhancement, testing, and maintenance of software products and systems. Working closely with senior developers and cross-functional teams, you will participate in software design activities, support sprint delivery commitments, and help ensure high-quality technical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to software development, maintenance, and testing activities.
  • Support software and system design initiatives under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Produce technical documentation, design specifications, and supporting materials.
  • Actively contribute to Agile/SCRUM ceremonies and sprint deliverables.
  • Assist in the delivery of high-quality software solutions through effective testing and quality practices.
  • Provide second-level technical support to product integration and technical support teams.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Adhere to established software engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
Qualifications

You are a motivated software developer who enjoys problem-solving, continuous learning, and working in a collaborative environment. You possess strong communication skills and can effectively balance multiple priorities while contributing to team success.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Hands onexperience in a software development environment.
  • Experience with: C++, C#, .NET, Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Experience using unit testing frameworks such as NUnit.
  • Experience with Git version control.
  • Understanding of relational database design and development.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian Jira.
  • Experience within Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), industrial control systems, or integrated engineering environments.
  • Exposure to Agile software delivery teams.
  • Understanding of field devices, equipment integration, or real-time operational systems.
