Job summary

Metro North Health's Caboolture Hospital seeks a Senior Social Worker to deliver advanced psychosocial care in Adult and Paediatric Emergency Departments. You will assess, counsel and intervene for patients and families facing acute trauma, crisis and complex social issues, partnering with the multidisciplinary team to optimise access to care and supports.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Social Work or equivalent required.
• Current registration as a Social Worker.
• Experience in emergency or crisis social work preferred.

Job description

Provide advanced social work support within Adult and Paediatric Emergency Departments, delivering high quality psychosocial care, crisis intervention and advocacy while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes for patients and families experiencing complex and challenging circumstances.

About the role

The Social Worker Senior provides high-level clinical social work services within the Adult and Paediatric Emergency Departments at Caboolture Hospital. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the role supports patients, families and carers experiencing acute psychosocial trauma, sudden illness, crisis situations and complex psychosocial issues, helping to optimise outcomes and access to healthcare and community supports.

The successful candidate will deliver evidence-based assessment, counselling and intervention services across a broad range of presentations including domestic and family violence, sexual assault, major trauma, child protection, elder abuse, homelessness, frailty, bereavement and grief. This role also contributes to clinical leadership, education, service improvement, research and multidisciplinary case management within a fast-paced emergency care environment.
