Job summary

St Vincent's Private Hospital Brisbane offers a role in the Alcohol and Drug Service, Community Outpatient, Darlinghurst, Sydney. You will deliver psychosocial assessments, counselling and health education for people using stimulants, and develop individualized care plans within a multidisciplinary team.

The position emphasizes trauma-informed practice, social determinants of health, and strong advocacy, with a Monday–Friday schedule and no on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work and eligible for membership of the AASW.
• Ability to work in a high-demand environment with competing priorities.
• Knowledge of legislative requirements for protection and victim support.
• Clinical skills in biopsychosocial assessment, counselling and case management.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Deliver psychosocial assessments, counselling and health education for people who use stimulants.
• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, intake, triage and develop care plans.
• Provide social work interventions including advocacy, referral management and care coordination.
• Develop group programs and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support complex clinical decisions.
• Participate in the Alcohol and Drug Service roster with weekday hours and no on-call.
