Job summary

MCCI invites applications for a Social Group Assistant to support the Vietnamese Social Group in the ACT. The role runs on Fridays from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with duties including transporting clients, helping with meals, and assisting in planning culturally appropriate activities.

The successful candidate will support seniors from CALD backgrounds, assist with group activities, and help with administrative tasks, contributing to a welcoming, inclusive community program.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with older people from CALD backgrounds.
• Experience in supporting groups and activities.
• Unrestricted full driving licence for at least 2 years.
• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Drive a 12‑seater bus to transport clients from home to groups and outings.
• Help with meal preparation.
• Assist in planning and implementing culturally appropriate activities including outings.

The role

We have an opportunity for a Social Group Assistant to support the running of our Vietnamese Social Group.

The responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

• Drive a 12‑seater bus to transport clients from home to groups and outings
• Help with meal preparation
• Assist in planning and implementing culturally appropriate activities including outings
• Assist with group administration

About you

As the first point of contact for clients, you will possess:

• Demonstrated experience in working with older people from CALD backgrounds.
• Experience in supporting groups and activities.
• Unrestricted full driving licence for at least 2 years
• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
