Job summary

Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network seeks a passionate Social Media Coordinator to plan, create and publish engaging content across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. You will monitor activity, grow audience reach, and use analytics to refine strategies in a health communications setting.

The role requires strong writing, photography/videography, and storytelling skills, with collaboration across staff, clinicians, patients, families and the community.

We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to join Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network’s (SCHN) Communications and Engagement Directorate. In a collaborative and supportive environment, you will plan, create and publish engaging content across SCHN’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Using your strong writing, photography, videography and storytelling skills, you will work with staff, clinicians, patients, families and the community to develop audience-focused content that is timely, accessible and engaging.



You will monitor social media activity, support audience growth and engagement, use analytics to refine content, and stay up to date with emerging social media trends and best practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative social media professional seeking new challenges in a meaningful health communications role.


What You'll Be Doing


  • The Communications and Engagement Directorate is responsible for implementing the communication, media and engagement strategies, maximising positive communication opportunities, and promoting the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN), its facilities and associated institutions.

  • The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for planning, creating and publishing content across SCHN’s social media platforms, including (but not limited to) Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

  • The role ensures SCHN’s social media platforms are communicating paediatric health initiatives and raising awareness of SCHN’s services, achievements and advancements.

Qualifications


  • Aresume(maximum 5 pages) outlining your experience

  • Responses to the questions below:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social media and/or media relations, equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.

  • Advanced writing skills, with the ability to distil complex information into clear, concise and engaging key messages.

  • Extensive experience in developing, writing and editing content for diverse channels and platforms.

  • Demonstrated high-quality photography and videography skills, and experience using professional creative editing software.

  • Strong understanding of social media trends and the effective use of visual content to communicate key messages.

  • Demonstrated experience producing audience focused content across a range of social media platforms.

  • Demonstrated experience in proactively generating and pitching social media stories.

  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively across diverse teams, demonstrating initiative and adaptability.
