Job summary

CyberCX in Melbourne is seeking a Team Lead, Security Operations to guide a small team of Security Analysts within its Managed Security Operations Centre. This hands-on leadership role suits an experienced SOC Team Lead or a Senior Analyst ready to move into people leadership.

You will balance technical security operations with coaching, customer engagement and operational ownership. You will remain close to the technology and act as a trusted escalation point during complex investigations,

Qualifications

• Experience in Security Operations Centre or MSSP environments.
• Investigation of security incidents using SIEM/EDR/XDR.
• Knowledge of cloud telemetry (AWS CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Azure/Entra).
• Experience mentoring or leading Security Analysts.
• Strong customer and stakeholder communication.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Security Analysts.
• Act as escalation point for complex investigations and higher-severity incidents.
• Oversee day-to-day delivery of managed security services across client environments.
• Ensure accurate customer reporting and service commitments.
• Coordinate and prioritise work across the team, including delegation and QA.
• Manage team rostering and on-call rotation.
• Support investigation and containment of incidents.
• Guide investigations using telemetry and support analysts.
• Develop and maintain detections for customer-specific tech.
• Onboard new customers and capabilities into the service.
• Build relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Drive continuous improvements across security operations.
