Job summary

Ethos BeathChapman in Brisbane is seeking a Snr Manager – Technology, Cyber Security & Program Assurance Risk (2LoD) on a max term contract through June 2027. The role leads risk mandates across technology and emerging tech, providing independent oversight and challenge within a growing Line 2 Risk function.

You will oversee technology and cyber security risk, program assurance, and regulatory compliance, including APRA CPS 230 and CPS 234, partnering with senior technology and business leaders

Qualifications

• Experience in Technology Risk, Cyber Security Risk or Program Assurance in financial services.
• Exposure to CPS 230 and CPS 234.
• Second Line function experience preferred; IT Audit or Line 1 Technology Risk viewed favorably.
• Certifications such as CA, CPA, CIA, CISSP, CISM, CISA or CRISC are advantageous.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to challenge senior technology and business leaders.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent Second Line oversight across technology, cyber security and operational risk.
• Lead development and ongoing maturity of technology and cyber security risk frameworks, governance and controls assurance.
• Provide independent risk oversight of major technology transformation programs, system implementations and strategic initiatives.
• Assess and challenge cyber security risks, control effectiveness, third-party exposures and remediation activities.
• Support operational resilience, AI governance and regulatory compliance (APRA CPS 230 and CPS 234).
• Deliver insightful risk reporting and recommendations to senior executives and Board committees.

Snr Manager – Technology, Cyber Security & Program Assurance Risk (2LoD)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this Brisbane based, Financial Services Group. This is a max term contract till June 2027 and you will be part of a growing Line 2 Risk function. This will be a hands-on position and you will be instrumental in leading the risk mandate from a Technology and Emerging technology perspective.

This role will provide independent risk oversight, advice and challenge across Technology Risk, Cyber Security Risk and Program Assurance, supporting the evolving technology landscape and significant transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide independent Second Line oversight and challenge across technology, cyber security and operational risk.
• Lead the development and ongoing maturity of technology and cyber security risk frameworks, governance and controls assurance.
• Provide independent risk oversight of major technology transformation programs, system implementations and strategic initiatives.
• Assess and challenge cyber security risks, control effectiveness, third-party exposures and remediation activities.
• Support operational resilience, AI governance and regulatory compliance, including APRA CPS 230 and CPS 234.
• Deliver insightful risk reporting and recommendations to senior executives and Board committees.

About You:

• You will bring experience in Technology Risk, Cyber Security Risk or Program Assurance within financial services or another highly regulated environment.
• Exposure to CPS 230 and CPS 234 is required.
• Ideally, you will have operated in a Second Line function, however experience in IT Audit or Line 1 Technology Risk will be highly regarded.
• CA / CPA / CIA / CISSP / CISM / CISA or CRISC certifications or other will be a distinct advantage.
• You will be a commercially minded, pragmatic risk professional with strong stakeholder engagement skills and the confidence to constructively challenge senior technology and business leaders.
