Job summary

Sedgman is seeking a Project Engineer (SMP) to join our Projects team. You will support Structural, Mechanical and Piping projects across the mining and resources sector, working from planning through to commissioning.

From coordinating multiple work packages to managing subcontractors and budgets, you will ensure delivery on time and within safety, quality and environmental standards. Occasional site travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years' experience in project engineering within mining, resources, heavy industry or construction environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing project schedules, costs and subcontractors.
• Exposure to SMP projects and construction delivery activities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage Structural, Mechanical and Piping project activities across project delivery.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets and progress for successful outcomes.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and construction interfaces across work packages.
• Support procurement activities, tender evaluations and scope development.
• Prepare project reports, forecasts and delivery updates for stakeholders.
• Assist with cost control, risk management and project planning.
• Support construction execution, commissioning and site-based delivery as needed.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to bids and work-winning activities to support future opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental requirements.
