DC Smoke Services in Brisbane is seeking a Smoke Alarm Technician with full training provided. You will visit residential properties, servicing and testing alarms across your allocated area, starting your day from home and reporting via our mobile app.
No prior smoke alarm experience is required; a valid driver’s license and a White Card are needed. We offer a stable, full-time role with a company vehicle, prepaid fuel, and training and support from the office team.
Start your day from home, head straight to your first job, and leave the sales targets behind.
We're looking for practical, reliable people to join our growing Brisbane field team. If you enjoy hands‑on work, being out on the road and getting through a productive day, this could be a great fit.
At DC Smoke Services, we look after smoke alarm and residential safety compliance for thousands of rental properties across South East Queensland. We're growing, and we need more good people out in the field.
If you've worked with smoke alarms before, great. If you've got a background in maintenance, trades, installations or something similar, we'd love to hear from you too. We provide full training, so previous smoke alarm experience isn't essential.

Company vehicle and fuel card provided for work
Start and finish from home – no daily trips to a depot
Monday to Friday – consistent, full‑time hours
No quoting, upselling or sales targets
Pre-booked appointments with your daily run planned for you
Full training and ongoing support from our office team
Stable, ongoing work with an established, growing company
You'll spend your days visiting residential properties across your allocated area, carrying out smoke alarm servicing and other safety compliance checks.
That includes:
Installing, replacing and testing smoke alarms
Checking alarms for faults, damage and expiry
Completing safety switch tests and blind cord compliance checks
Recording your work through our mobile app
Dealing professionally with tenants and property managers
Your appointments are organised by our scheduling team, so you can focus on getting through your day and doing the job properly.
You don't need to be an electrician or have smoke alarm experience. We're looking for someone who's practical, organised and comfortable working independently.
You'll need:
A current driver's licence
A White Card, or willingness to obtain one
Confidence using basic tools and mobile technology
Good attention to detail
Clear communication skills and a professional approach
Reliability and the ability to work independently in the field
Experience in smoke alarms, property maintenance, electrical trade support or other field service roles is an advantage, but not essential.
This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, likes being out and about rather than stuck behind a desk, and wants a stable role without the pressure of sales targets.
You'll have an organised schedule, the tools and training to do the job well, and a team behind you when you need them.
If that sounds like the kind of job you're after, we'd like to hear from you.
