Qualifications

• 5+ years in plumbing or construction with 2+ years in supervisory role.
• Proven track recordManaging small-to-medium projects and maintenance works.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials and best practices.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to multiple sites.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong leadership to motivate and manage teams.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations on site.
• Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication with clients and teams.
• Problem-solving mindset for decisions under pressure.
• First Aid and CPR certified (preferred).
• White Card / Construction Induction Card (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee small works and maintenance projects from inception to completion.
• Schedule and allocate work to plumbing teams to meet timelines and budgets.
• Conduct site inspections to determine scope and material needs.
• Monitor progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
• Manage budgets, track labour and materials, and report costs accurately.
• Liaise with clients to understand requirements and manage expectations.
• Supervise and mentor teams to develop skills and maintain standards.
• Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings; enforce on-site safety.
• Maintain documentation: work orders, timesheets, incident reports, records.

Sloane Plumbing is seeking a Small Works & Maintenance Manager to join our dynamic team based in Marrickville, NSW. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to oversee and manage small-scale plumbing projects and maintenance works across our portfolio of clients. In this supervisory role, you will be responsible for coordinating teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, whilst maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and safety. This position is integral to our operations, directly impacting client satisfaction and our reputation for excellence in the plumbing industry.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee small works and maintenance projects from inception to completion
• Schedule and allocate work to plumbing teams, ensuring efficient resource utilisation and project timelines are met
• Conduct site inspections and assessments to determine scope of work and material requirements
• Monitor project progress, identify potential issues and implement corrective actions as needed
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant building codes, safety regulations and company standards
• Manage project budgets, track labour costs and materials, and provide accurate cost reporting
• Liaise with clients to understand their requirements, provide updates and manage expectations
• Supervise and mentor plumbing teams, providing guidance, feedback and support to develop skills and maintain performance standards
• Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed on site, conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings
• Maintain accurate documentation, including work orders, timesheets, incident reports and project records
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and operational efficiency

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years' experience in plumbing or construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreperson role
• Proven track record of successfully managing small-to-medium sized projects and maintenance works
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials and best practice installation methods
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to multiple job sites
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
• Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively
• Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
• Proficiency with project management and scheduling software
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with clients and team members
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make decisions under pressure
• Current First Aid Certificate and CPR certification (preferred)
• White Card or Construction Induction Card (preferred)
