Job summary

Light & Wonder is seeking a Core Illustrator for our Gaming team to create production-ready slot game art, including symbols, characters, environments, and UI assets. You will work independently while coordinating with designers, animators, developers, and senior artists to ensure consistency with the established art style and deadlines.

You should have 2–5 years in gaming, a strong portfolio, expert Photoshop skills, and a solid grasp of asset pipelines and game production constraints.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience in gaming.
• Strong illustration and digital painting skills.
• Good understanding of composition, color theory, lighting, perspective, and visual storytelling.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and other relevant digital art tools.
• Ability to create clean, polished production-ready artwork.
• Strong understanding of asset creation workflows and game art pipelines.
• Good attention to detail and visual consistency.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of game production constraints, asset optimization, and implementation requirements.
• Ability to create visually engaging assets that support readability, player engagement, and game functionality.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality illustrations for slot symbols, characters, backgrounds, feature screens, and UI elements.
• Develop visually appealing assets that align with game themes and creative briefs.
• Translate design requirements into polished production-ready artwork.
• Ensure consistency with established art styles and visual guidelines.
• Collaborate with designers, animators, developers, and production teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create multiple design variations and iterate based on creative feedback.
• Prepare and organize assets for production and game integration.
• Maintain quality standards while meeting project deadlines.
• Contribute ideas during concept discussions and art reviews.
• Support associate artists through guidance and knowledge sharing when required.
• Take ownership of assigned assets from brief to final delivery and proactively communicate risks or challenges.
• Ensure assets meet both artistic quality standards and technical production requirements.
