Job summary

Griffin Marine Services is seeking an experienced Shipwright to fabricate, repair and maintain marine structures across multiple sites in Australia, including Darwin. You will interpret drawings, measure and cut materials, and work on hull and deck components with a focus on watertight integrity and outfitting.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of Shipwright experience in marine or heavy industrial environments.
  • Current driver’s licence is required.
  • OHS Construction Induction White Card is required.
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Able to work well in a team.
  • Desirable: Confined Space Entry, Fire Sentry Training and Working at Heights.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced Shipwright looking for a rewarding career? Griffin Marine Services Pty Ltd, a leading provider of marine services to Defence and commercial operators, is seeking skilled Shipwrights to join our growing team.

We have opportunities available in Hope Valley (WA), Sydney (NSW), Darwin (NT), Brisbane and Cairns (QLD).

As a Shipwright with Griffin Marine Services, your responsibilities will include:

  • Fabricate, repair, and maintain marine structures using materials like steel and aluminum
  • Interpret drawings and plans accurately.
  • Precisely measure, mark, and cut materials for critical hull and deck components.
  • Work on diverse ship systems, including watertight integrity and outfitting.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 2 years of Shipwright experience, preferably in a marine or heavy industrial environment.
  • A good understanding of Safety and PPE requirements in an industrial environment.
  • A current driver’s licence and reliable transport.
  • The ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • The ability to work well in a team.
  • An OHS Construction Induction White Card.
  • Desirable (but not mandatory) requirements Confined Space Entry, Fire Sentry Training, and Working at Heights certification.
