Job summary

Shoalhaven City Council is seeking a Site Surveillance Officer for a Temporary / Fixed Term Contract until December 2027. The role, based at the Nowra Administration Building, involves site inspections, contract surveillance, procurement support, and asset management across civil, building and open space projects.

Applicants should hold a Certificate IV in Construction, Project Management, Engineering or related field, demonstrate experience in construction/maintenance delivery, and possess a

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and a proactive, collaborative approach.
• Experience in construction and/or maintenance delivery functions including contract surveillance.
• Current NSW General Construction Induction card (white card) or acceptable interstate alternative.
• Minimum NSW Class C driver’s licence or equivalent valid in NSW.
• Proof of right to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide site surveillance and contract administration support across civil, building and open space projects.
• Monitor contractor compliance with technical, quality, environmental, traffic management and WHS requirements.
• Support project delivery through procurement activities, RFQ preparation, cost monitoring, payment assessments and reporting.
• Undertake asset inspections, condition assessments and defect audits to support ongoing management of Council assets.
• Liaise with contractors, stakeholders and Council staff, maintaining records and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
