Job summary

ASCOT GROUP is a leading construction company in Melbourne, Victoria. We are seeking two Site Supervisors (on the tools) to oversee commercial projects within our Projects division, offering full-time roles requiring hands-on carpentry expertise and strong leadership.

You will supervise crews, work on the tools, delegate tasks, manage timelines, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate with managers and engineers across multiple sites within Greater Melbourne. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent.
• Industry White Card (former Red Card).
• Full Victorian Driver’s Licence or recognised equivalent.
• Access to a full kit of reliable trade tools including a vehicle.
• Extensive carpentry or other equivalent trade experience.
• Experience supervising across multiple trades and sites.
• Strong end-to-end build process understanding.
• Ability to prioritise, schedule work and meet tight timeframes.
• Strong understanding of OHS site requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues.

About the role

We are looking for two Site Supervisor's (on the tools) at ASCOT GROUP Melbourne, Victoria, where you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful execution of construction projects in our Commercial and Projects division. These are full-time positions requiring your hands-on expertise, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of construction processes to ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality projects.

What you'll be doing

• Supervise and coordinate the work of construction teams to meet project timelines and quality standards
• Working on the tools as a carpenter
• Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and provide guidance to team members
• Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise on-site
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to optimise construction processes
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the project
• Travel will be across Greater Melbourne and occasional regional work.

What we're looking for

• Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent
• Industry White Card (former Red Card acceptable)
• Maintain a full Victorian (or recognised equivalent) Driver’s License
• Have access to a full kit of reliable trade appropriate tools inclusive of vehicle (which can carry materials)
• Extensive carpentry or other equivalent trade experience
• Demonstrated experience supervising/managing construction projects, including overseeing multiple trades, across multiple sites simultaneously
• Strong understanding of the end to end to build process
• Ability to prioritise and schedule work, manage a diary and work to tight timeframes
• Strong understanding of OHS site requirements
• Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues to achieve excellent work quality
