Job summary

MTP Services seeks experienced Site Security Observers to support a major Federal Government client across highly secure construction, infrastructure and facilities projects in Canberra. You will work with Security Managers and Project Managers to ensure compliance with Commonwealth security requirements.

Ideal candidates have strong situational awareness and discretion, with experience in protective and construction security across sensitive environments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction personnel and contractors in secure areas.

• Monitor movement of personnel, equipment and tools in secure areas.
• Identify and report security concerns, incidents or breaches.
• Maintain accurate site security logs and records.
• Coordinate with Site Security Managers and Project Managers.
• Support implementation of project security plans and procedures.
• Ensure sensitive areas remain controlled during construction and maintenance.
• Provide practical security support to project teams to keep progress safe.

MTP Services is looking to engage experienced Site Security Observers to support a major Federal Government client across a range of highly secure construction, infrastructure and facilities projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing protective and site security capability working across sensitive Commonwealth environments. The successful candidates will work alongside experienced Security Managers, Construction Managers, Project Managers and other Protective Security professionals to ensure construction activities are undertaken in accordance with strict Commonwealth security requirements.

MTP Services has a significant footprint across Federal Government Site Security and Protective Security environments, supporting projects from the Project Management layer through to Site Security and Construction Management and Site Security Observers on the ground.

We currently support a large number of security cleared professionals across Government projects in Canberra, nationally and internationally, giving successful candidates the opportunity to become part of an established and growing capability.

The Role:

As a Site Security Observer, you will provide onsite security oversight across construction, refurbishment, maintenance and infrastructure activities within highly secure Government environments.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Monitoring construction personnel, contractors and trades operating within secure areas
• Providing continuous observation of works being undertaken within designated security zones
• Providing security escorts for contractors, trades and other personnel where required
• Ensuring all personnel comply with site security procedures, access requirements and approved working arrangements
• Monitoring the movement of personnel, equipment, materials and tools throughout secure areas
• Identifying and reporting security concerns, incidents, anomalies or potential breaches
• Maintaining accurate site security logs, observations, records and reporting
• Liaising closely with Site Security Managers, Construction Managers, Project Managers and Protective Security personnel
• Supporting the implementation of project specific security plans and procedures
• Ensuring sensitive areas remain appropriately controlled throughout construction and maintenance activities
• Providing practical security support to project teams while allowing construction activities to progress safely and efficiently

• Highly classified Commonwealth environments
• Secure construction or infrastructure projects
• National security environments
• Facilities, construction or building security

Candidates will need to demonstrate strong situational awareness, discretion, attention to detail and the ability to confidently operate within highly controlled and regulated environments.

Strong communication skills are important, as you will regularly interact with construction teams, contractors, security personnel and Government stakeholders.

Security Clearance:

Due to the highly sensitive nature of these projects, candidates will need to hold an appropriate Australian Government security clearance.

Current TSPV or TSPA cleared candidates will be strongly preferred.

Candidates with relevant experience who are currently progressing through a TSPV or TSPA clearance process may also be considered.

Australian Citizenship is mandatory.
