Job summary

BMS Heavy Cranes Australia in Melbourne seeks an experienced Site Manager to oversee wind farm construction, coordinating crane operations, heavy-lift activities, and field teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager or Site Supervisor in construction, renewables or heavy-lift operations.
• Experience on wind farm construction projects is highly regarded.
• Full working rights in Australia are essential.
• Willingness to work a 3 weeks on / 1 week off FIFO or DIDO roster.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations on wind farm construction projects.
• Coordinate crane operations, heavy-lift activities, personnel, equipment and subcontractors.
• Plan and monitor work to meet project schedules and milestones.
• Ensure works comply with lift plans, project specs and site procedures.
• Maintain safety culture and comply with WHS and HSE-Q requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, pre-starts and risk assessments.
• Liaise with clients, project managers, supervisors and contractors.
• Monitor resources, productivity, equipment utilisation and site performance.
• Identify and resolve operational issues, delays and risks.
• Maintain daily reports and project documentation.
• Ensure quality and environmental requirements are met.

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee site operations on Australian wind farm construction projects, coordinating heavy-lift activities, crane operations, personnel and equipment to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on leader with strong construction experience, excellent organisational skills and a solid understanding of wind farm construction and heavy-lift operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day site operations on wind farm construction projects.
• Coordinate crane operations, heavy‑lift activities, personnel, equipment and subcontractors.
• Plan and monitor work activities to meet project schedules and milestones.
• Ensure all works comply with approved lift plans, project specifications and site procedures.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS legislation and HSE-Q requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, toolbox meetings, pre‑starts and risk assessments.
• Liaise with clients, project managers, supervisors and other contractors.
• Monitor resources, productivity, equipment utilisation and site performance.
• Identify and resolve operational issues, delays and potential risks.
• Maintain accurate site records, daily reports and project documentation.
• Ensure quality standards and environmental requirements are met throughout construction.

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a Site Manager, Site Supervisor or similar role within construction, renewables or heavy‑lift operations.
• Experience working on wind farm construction projects highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of crane operations, heavy lifting, crane mobilisation and site logistics.
• Demonstrated ability to lead site teams and coordinate multiple work fronts.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS requirements and construction safety practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, planning and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, lift plans, work packs and project schedules.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
• Relevant construction safety qualifications and industry tickets highly regarded.
• Full working rights in Australia are essential.
• Willingness to work a 3 weeks on / 1 week off FIFO roster or DIDO arrangement, depending on project location.
