Your client in the construction sector is seeking a Site Manager to lead delivery of a Government building project in a remote area of the Northern Territory. The role is full-time with a FIFO roster from Darwin or other Australian capitals.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a Site Manager or Site Supervisor role on Commercial or Government construction projects in Australia.
• Trade qualifications / background in Construction.
• Proven experience interpreting drawings and specifications.
• Proven experience with subcontractor management.
• Strong MS Office skills and/or Procore desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specifications, comment on design, scheduling, and potential construction issues.
• Develop daily and fortnightly programming.
• Monitor construction schedule and subcontractors' scope of works.
• Supervise site activities and manage trades on site.
• Ensure work is safe and meets quality standards.
• Report progress to Project Manager and ensure works stay on schedule.

Your new company

Your client, a successful company specialising in Commercial construction, is recruiting a talented Site Manager to lead the delivery of a complex Government Building project in a remote area of the Northern Territory.

Your new role

As a Site Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activity on site for the project to be delivered within the agreed timeframe and budget and according to the company’s quality and safety standards. The project is a new build Government facility (value around $50m) in a remote area of the Northern Territory. This is a full-time position available on a 3 weeks on / 1 week off FIFO roster from Darwin or any Australian capital city.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, scheduling, possible cost-savings measures, and potential construction problems.
• Develop the daily and fortnightly programming.
• Monitor the project construction schedule and the subcontractors’ scope of works.
• Supervise the activity on site and oversee the Trades and subcontractors’ daily operations.
• Ensure an efficient and safe quality of work according to the company’s standards.
• Report directly to the Project Manager about the work progress and ensure scheduled works are completed on time.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Significant experience in a Site Manager or Site Supervisor role working on Commercial or Government construction projects in Australia.
• Trade qualifications / background in Construction.
• Proven experience in interpreting drawings and specifications.
• Proven experience with subcontractor management.
• Strong understanding of MS Office applications and/or Procore is desirable.
• Solid leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
