Job summary

SHAPE Australia is seeking a Site Manager for our Darwin operation. Lead day-to-day delivery of fitout, refurbishment and construction projects in busy live environments, coordinating project managers and subcontractors to maintain safety, quality and on-time performance.

You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure clear communication, robust planning and strict adherence to site procedures, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes for defence, government and educational sectors in

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, including site management roles.
• Experience delivering commercial fitout projects and working in live environments.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site activities to deliver projects safely, on time and to quality.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following EHSQ policies and inspections.
• Prepare and manage construction programmes with the Project Manager.
• Lead site inductions, toolbox talks, and subcontractor meetings.
• Collaborate with Project Manager on programming, resource planning and delivery.
• Maintain site documentation and progress reporting.

You’ll play a key role in:

As a Site Manager in our Darwin team, you'll be right in the thick of the action leading the day-to-day delivery of projects in busy, live environments where great coordination and clear communication make all the difference. Working closely with our Project Managers and subcontractors, you'll keep projects running smoothly, champion safety and quality on site, and build strong relationships with clients and consultants while delivering standout fitout, refurbishment and construction projects.

• Manage all day-to-day site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely on time and to the required quality standards


• Maintain a safe working environment through strong adherence to EHSQ policies, procedures and site inspections


• Prepare and manage short and long-term construction programmes alongside the Project Manager


• Lead site inductions, toolbox talks and subcontractor meetings to maintain strong communication and safety culture


• Work closely with the Project Manager to support construction programming, resource planning and project delivery


• Maintain accurate site documentation including site diaries, progress updates and reporting through SHAPE systems

What you’ll bring:

You're the kind of Site Manager who sets the tone on site - calm, organised and leading by example. You enjoy bringing people together to deliver great outcomes and a project everyone's proud of

• At least 5 years' experience in the construction industry including 2+ years in a Site Management role ideally within commercial fitout


• Experience delivering projects typically ranging from $500k to $5M+


• Strong ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications for buildability and accuracy


• Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing site programmes


• Understanding of head contracts, subcontractor obligations and project delivery processes


• A collaborative leader who builds positive relationships and promotes a strong team environment


• A proactive mindset with a strong commitment to safety, accountability and quality delivery
