Job summary

JNC Group Indigenous Contractors Pty Ltd is an Indigenous-owned civil contracting company based in Armidale, NSW, delivering civil construction and infrastructure projects across regional NSW.

We are seeking a hands-on Site Manager to run day-to-day operations on a civil construction site in Coffs Harbour, covering kerb and gutter works, road realignment, drainage adjustments and streetscape upgrades. You will lead crews, manage safety, quality and interfaces with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager or Supervisor on civil construction or roadworks projects.
• Current White Card (Construction Induction Training).
• Current driver's licence.
• Familiarity with WHS, quality and environmental management systems on construction sites.
• Experience managing traffic and pedestrian control on live road projects.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to read civil drawings and specifications.
• Well organised, safety-focused, able to manage subcontractors to a program.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate day-to-day site operations, ensuring safe delivery on program.
• Supervise site crews and subcontractors, allocate resources and manage the schedule.
• Enforce the site's WHS plan and maintain a safe work environment.
• Ensure work meets quality requirements with ITPs and checklists.
• Manage traffic and pedestrian management on live roads safely.
• Apply environmental management controls as per the project plan.
• Liaise with client’s representative, council officers, utilities and stakeholders.
• Maintain site records, diaries and progress reporting.
• Identify and escalate variations, delays or site issues promptly.

Job description

We're seeking a hands-on Site Manager to run day-to-day operations on a civil construction site in Coffs Harbour, covering kerb and gutter works, road realignment, drainage adjustments, and associated streetscape upgrades.

Key responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on program and to specification

Supervise site crews and subcontractors, allocate resources, and manage the construction schedule

Implement and enforce the site's Work Health & Safety Management Plan, and maintain a safe work environment at all times

Ensure work complies with quality requirements, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and checklists

Implement the site's Traffic and Pedestrian Management Plan, keeping roads, footpaths, bus stops and local business access safe and operational throughout construction

Apply environmental management controls in line with the project's Environmental Management Plan

Liaise professionally with the client's representative, council officers, utility providers and local businesses/stakeholders

Manage materials, plant and equipment on site, and coordinate deliveries

Maintain accurate site records, diaries, and progress reporting

Identify and escalation variations, delays or site issues promptly

About you

Proven experience as a Site Manager or Supervisor on civil construction or roadworks projects

Current White Card (Construction Induction Training)

Current driver's licence

Working knowledge of WHS, quality and environmental management systems on construction sites (Cert IV in WHS or similar highly regarded)

Experience managing traffic control and pedestrian management on live road/streetscape sites

Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to read and work from civil construction drawings and specifications

Well organised, safety-focused, and comfortable managing subcontractors and crews to a program
