Job summary

MacKellar is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join our team at Carmichael Mine in Central Queensland. This site-based, hands-on role supports operational leaders and employees across a range of HR and workforce matters, delivering practical advice and guidance on employee relations, performance management, and HR processes.

You will partner with supervisors, managers and employees, managing investigations, grievances and disciplinary matters, while coaching leaders on employment legislation

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an HR Advisor or HR Generalist role
• Experience across employee relations, investigations, performance management and disciplinary processes
• Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Awards and/or Enterprise Agreements

Responsibilities

• Providing practical HR advice across employee relations and people management
• Supporting performance management, investigations, grievances, misconduct and disciplinary matters
• Preparing HR documentation, including investigation outcomes, warnings, performance improvement plans and termination correspondence
• Coaching leaders on employment legislation, Enterprise Agreement interpretation and HR best practice
• Supporting fitness for work, return-to-work and absenteeism matters in partnership with the Health team
• Building strong relationships with leaders and employees across site
• Working with Payroll, Travel and Site Administration to resolve employee and roster-related matters
• Supporting HR projects, initiatives and continuous improvement activities
• Escalating complex employee relations matters where required
