Job summary

Spiecapag Australia seeks an experienced Environmental Manager to lead site-based environmental management and compliance for a major pipeline project in Adelaide, South Australia. You will oversee the project’s EMS, regulatory licences, and reporting, working with management, construction teams, and the client to prevent incidents and ensure regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ environmental management and compliance on construction/infrastructure projects with senior leadership experience.
• Experience on linear infrastructure projects including pipeline construction and major civil works.
• Strong knowledge of SA environmental legislation, EPA requirements, licenses and ISO 14001 systems.
• Experience managing high-risk environmental matters such as dewatering, water quality, erosion and sediment control, and contaminated land.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project environmental management system, including plans, permits, licences, inspections, registers and reporting requirements.
• Drive environmental performance by identifying risks early and ensuring actions are tracked and closed out.
• Provide practical environmental leadership to construction teams, supervisors and subcontractors.
• Manage key environmental risks including dewatering, water quality, erosion and sediment control, contaminated land, waste and hydrotest discharge.
• Oversee audits, investigations, non-conformances and corrective actions with timely close-out.
• Prepare and submit environmental reports, regulatory notifications and client compliance deliverables.
• Lead environmental training and toolbox talks to build crew accountability.
• Act as environmental interface with client, regulators, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
