Responsibilities

• Assist and learn from Project Managers at head office and on sites.
• Coordinate and supervise day-to-day site activities to meet specs, timelines and budgets.
• Monitor progress and report on safety, quality and schedule KPIs.
• Liaise between site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and the office.
• Undertake site inspections and quality checks against requirements.
• Support documentation like diaries, progress reports and method statements.
• Assist with risk management and mitigation planning.
• Participate in pre-construction planning meetings and programming.
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.
• Assist with contract administration, variations and claims.

Commercial Project Group Pty Ltd is seeking a Site Engineer/Junior Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Port Macquarie NSW. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to develop your project management capabilities whilst taking on increasing responsibility within the construction industry. You will work on-site and in our head office overseeing the delivery of construction projects and gaining valuable experience in all aspects of project execution, from planning and coordination through to completion. This role is pivotal in ensuring projects run smoothly, safely and within budget, whilst building the foundational skills required for a successful career in construction project management.

What you’ll be doing

Assisting and learning from our Project Managers both at our head office and on our construction sites.

Coordinating and supervising day-to-day site activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, timelines and budgets

Monitoring project progress and reporting on key performance indicators, including safety, quality and schedule adherence

Liaising between site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and the main office to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving

Undertaking site inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets contractual requirements and industry standards

Assisting with documentation, including site diaries, progress reports, method statements and as-built records

Supporting the management of project risks, including identification and mitigation planning

Participating in pre-construction meetings and contributing to planning and programming discussions

Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies on-site

Assisting with contract administration, variations and claims management

Building relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders to support project delivery

Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies and project delivery frameworks

A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

A current driver's licence and willingness to travel to different sites as required

A valid white card (Construction Induction Card) or willingness to obtain one

Strong commitment to health and safety practices and continuous improvement

Experience working on commercial, civil or infrastructure projects would be advantageous
