Job summary

Maas Construct, a building construction company and part of Maas Group Holdings, is seeking an early-career Site Engineer to provide technical support on major projects in regional Australia. You will assist the Engineering Lead with on-site design coordination, RFIs, and ensure compliance with design documentation and quality requirements.

You will review shop drawings, maintain inspection records, and coordinate with subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Experience with site engineering or construction project engineering is desirable.
• Familiar with inspection and test plans, RFI registers, and quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Engineering Lead in on-site design coordination, RFIs, and design documentation.
• Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and hold point notifications across trade packages.
• Maintain inspection and test plan records and NCR registers.
• Review shop drawings and technical submittals and prepare engineering comments.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and trades on technical queries and design clarifications.
• Support as-built documentation and site survey activities.
• Attend meetings and help close out action items.
• Assist in compiling technical documentation for project handover and O&M manuals.

The opportunity

We are seeking an early-career Site Engineer to provide technical support on major construction projects.

This role assists the Engineering Lead in managing on-site design coordination, inspections, and technical compliance. You will manage technical reviews for specific trade packages, maintain inspection records, and support the engineering team in ensuring construction works comply with design documentation and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Engineering Lead in on-site design coordination, including preparation and management of RFIs and design documentation.
• Conduct site inspections, hold point notifications, and quality checks across assigned trade packages.
• Maintain inspection and test plan records, NCR registers, and technical compliance documentation.
• Review shop drawings and technical submittals for assigned packages and prepare engineering review comments.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and trades on technical queries, method statements, and design clarifications.
• Support as-built documentation and survey activities across assigned site areas.
• Attend engineering and design coordination meetings, prepare action items, and follow through to close out.
• Assist the Engineering Lead in compiling technical documentation for project handover and O&M manuals.

Experience and qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in site engineering or construction project engineering.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Familiarity with inspection and test plans, RFI registers, quality management systems, and construction documentation standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent drafting and document management platforms.
• Current Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Technically curious and eager to develop site engineering skills and construction knowledge.
• Effective communicator with trades, subcontractors, and the engineering team.
