Select Recruitment is seeking an experienced Site‑Based Electrical Project Engineer to join a landmark Melbourne construction project. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone who thrives on-site, solves problems in real time, and wants to contribute from the ground up.

Reporting to the Electrical Project Manager, you will coordinate electrical services on-site, review shop drawings and RFIs, manage subcontractors and suppliers, and work with construction teams to ensure work is delivered safely,

Qualifications

• Degree or trade-qualified background in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience as a Project Engineer on large commercial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong site experience with electrical services installations.
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
• Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively on-site.
• Well-organised, proactive, and solutions-focused.
• Familiar with Australian Standards and local construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day site‑based electrical engineering activities
• Coordinate electrical subcontractors and suppliers
• Review and manage shop drawings, RFIs, and technical submissions
• Assist with program planning, sequencing, and progress tracking
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, Australian Standards, and safety requirements
• Support commissioning, testing, and handover activities
• Identify and help resolve design, constructability, and installation issues
• Contribute to cost control, variations, and reporting

Education
