Job summary

Intro Recruitment Solutions – Melbourne VIC is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a Melbourne-based contractor working on major Building Services projects. The role blends design expertise with practical delivery across commercial, health, education and high-rise sectors.

You will collaborate with project managers, site teams, consultants and clients, guiding design development through to construction and project completion while ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and NCC

Senior Electrical Engineer – Contractor Side | Melbourne

A well-established Melbourne electrical contractor is looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team, working across major Building Services projects throughout Melbourne.

This is an opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer coming from a Building Services background to move into a contractor-side environment, where you’ll be involved not only in engineering and design, but also in the practical delivery and construction of projects.

Working closely with project managers, site teams, builders, consultants and clients, you’ll have genuine involvement from design development through to construction and project completion.

About the Role

• Provide senior electrical engineering input across major Building Services projects
• Work across design development, documentation, coordination and project delivery
• Review consultant designs and identify practical and constructible solutions
• Assist with Design & Construct (D&C) projects from design through to construction
• Work closely with project managers, site teams, consultants and subcontractors
• Coordinate electrical services with other Building Services disciplines
• Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Provide technical support throughout construction and assist with resolving project issues
• Attend project meetings and provide engineering input to project teams
• Ensure electrical works comply with relevant Australian Standards, NCC requirements and project specifications

About You

• Senior-level experience in Building Services Electrical Engineering
• Strong electrical design and technical engineering background
• Experience across commercial building projects
• Good understanding of electrical services, including power, lighting and essential services
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and NCC requirements
• Experience within an electrical contractor, D&C environment or engineering consultancy
• Interested in the practical delivery and construction side of Building Services
• Confident communicating with clients, consultants, builders and project teams
• Strong technical problem-solving and coordination skills
• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
• Victorian registration or Chartered status would be highly regarded
