Qualifications

• 5+ years signwriting experience (trade qualification welcome but not essential).
• Solid hands-on skills in vinyl cutting, weeding and application.
• Proficient with FlexiSign and Adobe Illustrator.
• Able to read briefs, take direction and see a job to completion.
• White Card and a manual driver's licence; full Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Printing, mounting, trimming, weeding and finishing digital graphics and signage.
• Laying out and producing signs – measuring, letter sizes, surfaces, backgrounds and lettering.
• Producing artwork and cut files in FlexiSign and Adobe Illustrator.
• Cutting, weeding and applying vinyl to a range of substrates.
• General fabrication and fitting of fasteners and fixtures.
• Helping with on-site installs when needed.

Job description

Signwriter with Landells Signs, Australia's oldest signage company operating since 1903. The work is varied – one week you're weeding and applying vinyl for a retail rollout, the next you're hand-finishing a bespoke job or out on site helping with an install. You'll be joining the Melbourne production team at the modern production plant in Sunshine West.

Key responsibilities

• Printing, mounting, trimming, weeding and finishing digital graphics and signage
• Laying out and producing signs – measuring, calculating letter sizes, preparing surfaces, applying backgrounds and lettering using brushes, sprays, rollers, stencils, enamels and decals
• Producing artwork and cut files in FlexiSign and Adobe Illustrator
• Cutting, weeding and applying vinyl to a range of substrates
• General fabrication and fitting of fasteners and fixtures
• Helping with on-site installs when needed

About you

• 5 plus years' signwriting experience (trade qualification welcome but not essential)
• Solid hands-on skills in vinyl cutting, weeding and application
• Working knowledge of FlexiSign and Adobe Illustrator
• A good eye for layout, colour and detail
• Understanding of signage substrates, media, paints and fabrication methods
• Able to read a brief, take direction from the production team and see a job through from concept to completion
• White Card and a manual driver's licence
• Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia
