Job summary

Signarama North Sydney is seeking a skilled Signwriter to produce high‑quality signage and liaise with clients to translate proposals and sketches into finished signs. You will design, prepare artwork, select substrates and operate sign making machines.

You may also install signs on-site, work with various surfaces and contribute to cost estimates for labour and materials. The role requires autonomy, safety awareness and the ability to collaborate with sales, design and installation teams.

Qualifications

• Previous signwriting experience.
• Able to liaise with other departments as part of the signage process (sales/design and installation).
• Proficient with computer platforms (POS/CRM/Production Manager).

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients to determine sign composition from proposals and sketches.
• Design and create signs and graphics using computer software and sign machines.
• Prepare artwork, measure letter sizes, and print/apply lettering and graphics.
• Create wall murals, screen prints, gold leaf work, and custom vehicle art.
• Print signs and lettering using inks and equipment.
• Produce and apply signs on brick, metal, timber, glass, plastic surfaces.
• Fabricate and erect 3D signs.
• Prepare labour and materials cost estimates.
• Work on scaffolding when required and install signs on-site.

Job description

Produce and install all types of high-quality signage. The role requires close liaison with clients, subcontractors, staff, and other stakeholders. The Signwriter must ensure that they maintain and promote professional relationships with all stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Conferring with clients and responding to proposals, sketches and written instructions to determine composition of signs
• Designing and creating signs and graphics using computer software and sign making machines
• Designing and creating printed signs by measuring and calculating letter size, preparing artwork and substrates, and printing and applying lettering and graphics
• Designing and creating wall murals, screen prints, gold leaf work and custom vehicle art
• Printing signs and lettering using suitable inks, printing equipment and materials
• Producing and applying printed signs and graphics for brick, metal, timber, glass, plastic and other surfaces
• Making and erecting three-dimensional signs
• Preparing cost estimates for labour and materials
• May erect and work on scaffolding
• May install signs on-site
