Hitachi Rail Limited in Brisbane is seeking an enthusiastic Signalling Functional Design Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role spans administrative to strategic tasks and is based in Brisbane, Australia.

You will guarantee on-time, on-budget signalling design delivery, set up HW/SW configurations, lead design reviews, and ensure controlled documentation and lab testing prior to handover of executable files.

Qualifications

• Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology degree.
• More than 5 years of professional experience in signalling design.

Responsibilities

• Guarantee the delivery of signalling design for projects, on schedule and within budget.
• Set up HW including OS installation, automated installs, SW integration and troubleshoot lab/production hardware.
• Perform detailed hardware design including documents/drawings and input to dev, integration, testing, and maintenance.
• Control design documents per company processes.
• Lead reviews to detect design errors and ensure corrections.
• Deliver subsystems or SW configurations and produce configuration documents.
• Meet requirements, design, and test according to project needs.
• Issue and control input data, configuration documents and executables per processes.
• Define and execute integration lab tests before handover of executables.

Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Signalling Functional Design Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.

Key Responsibilities

• Guarantee the delivery of the signalling design for projects, including documentation of design, on schedule and budget


• Ensure the setup of HW (including operating system installation, automated installation development, SW integration) and identifying and troubleshooting problems with both lab and production hardware


• Executing detailed hardware design, including documents and drawings as well as input to development, integration, testing, and maintenance


• Ensure the control of design documents in accordance with company processes


• Responsible for leading reviews to detect design errors and ensure correction


• Ensure the delivery of sub-systems or SW configurations for medium & small signalling project schemes including the production and check of the configuration documents


• Guarantee requirements, designing, and testing according to allocated project requirements


• Guarantee input data, the configuration documents and .exe files are issued and controlled in accordance with company processes


• Defining and executing the integration lab tests before handover of the executable files of the configured sub-systems
