Job summary

Hitachi Rail Australia is seeking an experienced engineer to lead signalling design across projects in Brisbane. The role focuses on delivering on time and within budget, with responsibility for hardware setup, documentation, and approval of design configurations.

You will drive reviews to detect design issues, manage sub-system or software configurations, and ensure tests are executed before handover, aligning with company processes and quality standards.

Qualifications

• More than 5 years of professional experience in Signalling design.
• Strong knowledge of hardware design and testing processes.
• Experience delivering design documentation under company processes.

Responsibilities

• Guarantee the delivery of the signalling design for projects, including documentation of design, on schedule and budget
• Ensure the setup of HW (including operating system installation, automated installation development, SW integration) and identifying and troubleshooting problems with both lab and production hardware
• Executing detailed hardware design, including documents and drawings as well as input to development, integration, testing, and maintenance
• Ensure the control of design documents in accordance with company processes
• Responsible for leading reviews to detect design errors and ensure correction
• Ensure the delivery of sub-systems or SW configurations for medium & small signalling project schemes including the production and check of the configuration documents
• Guarantee requirements, designing, and testing according to allocated project requirements
• Guarantee input data, the configuration documents and .exe files are issued and controlled in accordance with company processes
• Defining and executing the integration lab tests before handover of the executable files of the configured sub-systems
