Job summary

Fortescue is seeking an experienced Shutdown Supervisor for Solomon mine. You will lead field‑level scope development across wet and dry processing facilities, coordinating with maintenance, planning, engineering, reliability and OEM/vendor teams.

The role is hands‑on and field‑focused to ensure readiness and quality of shutdown scopes. You will bring strong fixed plant maintenance knowledge, reliable shutdown experience, and the ability to interpret drawings and OEM information.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated fixed plant maintenance and shutdown experience within mining.
  • Strong knowledge of crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps and gearboxes.
  • Experience scoping, supervising or executing complex shutdown work.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, technical documentation and OEM information.
  • Strong understanding of shutdown preparation, work readiness and risk control.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field inspections to develop, validate and refine shutdown scopes.
  • Translate defects into executable scopes for the Planning team.
  • Identify scope boundaries, constructability, materials, lifting and access needs.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Reliability, Operations and OEM/vendor teams.
  • Ensure scopes meet shutdown readiness milestones and manage risks.
  • Provide technical clarification to Shutdown Planners and support planning/execution.
  • Capture lessons learned to drive continuous scope quality improvements.
