Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland's Lifeline Queensland retail team in Mackay is hiring a Retail Supervisor on a permanent part-time basis (32.5 hours per week). You will lead one of our 120 Lifeline charity stores, delivering great customer service while supporting crisis support and suicide prevention services with proceeds.

You will manage all aspects of retail operation, coach staff and volunteers, monitor pricing and promotions, and strive to meet sales targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail management (or hospitality with retail background) and ability to coach/mentor people.
• Ability to deliver high-level customer service and exceed expectations.
• Available Monday to Friday and able to work in Mackay.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of a retail operation.
• Coach and develop staff and volunteers to achieve sales targets.
• Monitor pricing, visual merchandising, promotions and stock control to maintain profitability.

Along with your passionfor your local communityandleadinga store thatprovidesgreat customer serviceyouwill:

Demonstrate a passion for Lifeline and its purpose, promoting its service and value to the community through personal actions, behaviours,practicesand outcomes

Manage all aspects of a retail operation and delegate responsibilities whereappropriate toensure sound business practices are adhered to and sales targets areachieved

Work with staff and volunteers to review andmonitorpricing, visual merchandising,promotionaleventsand selling techniques to ensure that profitability ismaintainedand improved

Maintain effective communication channels within direct team, regional supportfunctions and external stakeholders andprovide assistance toteam members inhandling customer complaints / enquiries

Identifyissues and opportunities based on selling and customer feedback

Setobjectivesand prioritise tasks, ensuringobjectivesare tied to overall businessstrategy

Coach and develop direct reports daily, ensuring development goals are linked tobusinessobjectivesand improved performance

To be successful for this role you will need to be/have:

Available Monday - Friday

Be passionate about Lifeline and be able to articulate its purpose

Demonstrated experience in retail management (or hospitality management with a background in retail), including experience in coaching and mentoring people

Ability to delivera high levelof customer service and exceed customer expectations

Demonstrate enthusiasm and eagerness to learn the fundamentals of all store roles, including but not limited to customer service, visual presentation, onlinemarketingand stock control

Create a values driven, diverse and safe employment environment that attracts,engagesandretainsskilled employees and volunteers

Communicate promotional event information to maximise results

Identifyissues and opportunities based on trends and customer feedback

Setting and exceeding priorities to meet daily deadlines; developing plans to meet short-term objectives
