Job summary

Nu-Pure Beverages is seeking an experienced Shift Technician (Mechanical) to join the Maintenance team at our Horsley Park facility. This full-time role focuses on fault finding, maintenance, and continuous improvement of high-speed production equipment in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

You will diagnose faults across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor, and packaging equipment, supervise contractors, and promote safety/quality compliance in line with HACCP & GMP standards.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or equivalent recognised trade.
• 5+ years' experience in FMCG/high-speed manufacturing/bottling environments.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills with high attention to detail.
• Experience with high-speed production and packaging equipment; PLC-controlled machinery is a plus.
• Experience maintaining preventative and planned maintenance systems (e.g., MEX).
• Ability to troubleshoot and respond under pressure.
• Strong collaboration with production teams and contractors; commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Shift Technician (Mechanical) to join our Maintenance team at our Horsley Park facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this full-time permanent role plays a key part in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving our high-speed production equipment, with a strong focus on mechanical fault finding, plant reliability, and operational performance. Working in a fast-paced FMCG environment, you'll be responsible for fault finding, breakdown response, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating closely with production teams and contractors.

Work Pattern (Rotating Roster)

This role supports a 24/7 manufacturing operation and operates on a structured rotating 12-hour shift pattern across day and night shifts, including weekends:

• 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Day Shift)
• 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Night Shift)
• A consistent rotating roster

You must be able to commit to working day, night, and weekend shifts as part of this rotating roster.

Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Operations

• Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Deliver planned and preventative maintenance across the site
• Maintain maintenance systems including work orders and schedules
• Monitor equipment performance and identify improvement opportunities
• Work closely with production teams to support reliable operations

Technical & Continuous Improvement

• Diagnose and rectify faults across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor, and packaging equipment
• Perform repairs, overhauls, adjustments, alignments, and replacement of mechanical components
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise plant performance
• Support operators with technical guidance to improve equipment use

Contractor Coordination

• Supervise and coordinate contractors, ensuring safe and compliant work practices

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Promote a strong safety culture and adhere to WHS requirements
• Ensure all work meets food safety and quality standards (HACCP & GMP)
• Identify and address unsafe conditions
• Participate in incident investigations and reporting

About You

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner, or equivalent recognised trade
• 5+ years' experience within FMCG, high-speed manufacturing, bottling, or similar production environments highly regarded
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Experience maintaining high-speed production and packaging equipment, with exposure to PLC-controlled machinery highly regarded
• Experience working with pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems
• Strong experience using preventative and planned maintenance systems, such as MEX
• Ability to troubleshoot and respond under pressure
• Strong collaboration skills with production teams and contractors
