Job summary

Vertex Minerals Limited is seeking an experienced Underground Mine Supervisor to lead a crew at the Reward Gold Mine, Hill End, NSW. Reporting to the Underground Superintendent, you will supervise development and production to hit targets safely and efficiently.

You will bring a NSW Practising Certificate, 10+ years in underground hard rock mining, a current UHL security clearance and a C Class Driver’s Licence. Residential relocation support to Bathurst/Hill End/Mudgee is available.

Qualifications

• Current NSW Practicing Certificate (Underground Mine Supervisor) is required.
• Ideally 10+ years in underground hard rock mining.
• Security clearance (UHL) and a C Class Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate personnel, equipment and resources to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
• Support and develop the capability and training of the shift crew.
• Ensure all work activities are carried out safely, efficiently and to plans.
• Partner with technical, maintenance, geology and support teams to meet objectives.

About Us

Vertex Minerals Limited is a gold mining company redeveloping the Reward Gold Mine at Hill End, central west of NSW, Australia, located between the major regional centres of Bathurst and Mudgee, approximately 200km west of Sydney.

As the site of the first discovery of economic gold in Australia in 1851, The Hill End goldfield is noted for its coarse gold - both as alluvial nuggets and as masses of gold and quartz in narrow quartz veins.Vertex’s Hill End Project comprises of mineral resource located at the Reward Gold Mine, Red Hill Project and Hargraves Project with total contained gold estimated to be 483,000 ounces. The Reward Gold Mine has a resource of 419,000 tonnes at 16.7 grams/tonne.

Each shift is 7 on/7 off continuous shift roster with each shift being for 12 hours.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Underground Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervising the development and production activities to achieve production targets safely, efficiently and cost-effectively. Leading a team, you will:

• Coordinate personnel, equipment and resources to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
• Support and develop the capability of your team, including the training and competency of your shift crew
• Ensure that all work activities are carried our safely, efficiently and in accordance with plans and schedules.
• Partner with technical, maintenance, geology and support teams to deliver operational objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.

In return you will bring

We would prefer the workforce to be residential in Bathurst/Hill End/Mudgee area and if the not currently residing in the local region we would provide assistance to relocate and settle in the Bathurst/Hill End/Mudgee area.
