Job summary

Ventia is seeking an experienced Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Advisor to support VIMC (Victorian Intelligent Transport Systems Maintenance Contract) across Melbourne. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly mobilised project where you'll have the ability to influence safety, quality and environmental outcomes from the ground up while gaining exposure.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent.
• Experience as Safety Advisor, Safety Coordinator, SHEQ Advisor, or similar.
• Experience in civil construction, roads, transport, or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management, especially in live traffic environments.
• Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Flexibility to travel across a broad area as required.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and maintenance of SHEQ management plans, systems and processes across the contract.
• Conduct incident investigations and provide recommendations to improve safety performance and prevent recurrence.
• Facilitate risk assessments, maintain risk registers and ensure SHEQ documentation is managed in line with company requirements.
• Support rehabilitation and Return to Work programs in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
• Promote a strong safety culture through engagement activities, toolbox talks, inductions and training initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with legislation, regulations, standards and internal SHEQ requirements.
• Assist operational teams in identifying, managing and mitigating safety, environmental and quality risks.
