Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to provide leadership to a team of Advisors and deliver compliance guidance to operational management. The role is permanent full-time, primarily based across NSW and QLD and is 80% field-based.

You will guide, audit, train and investigate to drive safety excellence and continuous improvement. This position offers a competitive base salary with a car allowance and access to career progression in a global organisation.

Qualifications

  • Formal OH&S qualifications or extensive industry experience
  • Experience in transport/logistics, construction, resources or other heavy industries
  • Certificate IV in workplace training and assessing (desirable)
  • Auditing qualification; Lead Auditor desirable
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • ICAM Investigation training

Responsibilities

  • Lead Advisors to deliver functional requirements and strategic safety direction
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and monitoring to meet requirements and communicate regulatory changes
  • Develop and maintain SHEQ management plans and support management system implementation across operations
  • Execute injury prevention programs, safety training, risk assessments, incidents investigations and foster a safety culture
  • Track SHEQ effectiveness and report continuous improvement

Job description

As Health & Safety Manager, you will provide health and safety leadership to a team of Advisors and deliver compliance advice to operational management. You will support the team in achieving safety excellence and maximising company safety performance through audit, engagement, training, investigation, and continuous improvement.

This permanent full-time position is primarily based in across NSW and QLD and is 80% field-based.

What you'll be responsible for

Guide subordinate advisors to deliver approved functional requirements and ensure organisational direction

Conduct inspections, audits, and monitoring to ensure operations meet company, client, and legislative requirements; communicate regulatory changes

Develop and maintain SHEQ management plans and support implementation of the Business Management System across operations

Execute injury prevention programs, safety training, drug/alcohol testing, risk assessments, incident investigations, and foster a safety-first culture through toolboxes and interactions

Track SHEQ effectiveness through statistical analysis, maintain audit records, identify high-risk factors, and provide quantitative/qualitative reports demonstrating continuous improvement

What you'll need to be successful

Formal qualifications in OH&S or extensive industry experience in a similar OH&S position

Extensive experience from either transport and logics sector, construction, resources or other heavy industries

Certificate IV in workplace training and assessing (desired)

Auditing qualification and experience (Lead Auditor is desirable)

Current Driver’s Licence

ICAM Investigation training
