Job summary

New Life Shelter is seeking a Housekeeping/Food Service Worker to support shelter operations by keeping facilities clean, assisting with food service, and ensuring a safe, sanitary environment for residents. The role runs 7:00am-3:30pm, Friday through Tuesday, with on-site duties in New York.

The position requires at least one year of experience or training, ability to read and write English, and legal work eligibility in the U.S. Comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience and/or training required.
• Ability to read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of common areas, kitchens, and dining areas.
• Assist with food preparation, serving, and cleanup in accordance with sanitation standards.
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and food service equipment.
• Follow infection control, health, and safety procedures.
• Restock supplies and assist with inventory control.
• Remove trash and maintain sanitation of waste areas.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
