Seymour VRI Bowling Club is seeking a Playing Coach for the 2026/27 season to join as a dual player-coach. The successful candidate will provide coaching, guidance and support to individuals and teams across all skill levels, focusing on technique, strategy and performance.
Ideal applicants will have current coaching qualifications or be an accomplished bowler looking to advance their coaching career; weekend pennant play is expected, with club-wide and individual coaching sessions planned
Seymour VRI Bowling Club is currently seeking expressions of interest for a Playing Coach to join the Club for the upcoming 2026/27 season.
Situated on the southern fringe of the Goulburn Valley Playing Area of the Goulburn Murray Bowls Region, Seymour is located 114km (1 hr 24 min) north of the Melbourne CBD and 82km (1hr) south of Shepparton, at the junction of the Hume Freeway and Goulburn Valley Highway.
The Seymour VRI Bowling Club was established in October of 1948 as a recreation club for Victorian Railway employees located on the corner of Anzac Avenue and Goulburn Street, Seymour and currently has 2 grass greens, both tifdwarf with a five-rink green in front of our clubhouse and a four-rink green a1 block down Anzac Avenue at the VRI Institute Hall. The club was officially opened on the 30th of October 1948 as a recreational club for Victorian Railway Workers now openly encourages membership by all genders, ages and occupations of the community.
Currently fielding sides in both Division One and Division Five of the Goulburn Valley Playing Area Midweek (Tuesdays) and Weekend (Saturdays) Pennant Competitions, as part of the Goulburn Murray Bowls Region in central Victoria. The club, though small in size with just 53 members, has been a very successful club recently winning promotion for the 2025-26 season into the top tier in Goulburn Valley Division 1 Midweek and Weekend Competitions as well as fielding Division 5 sides in both competitions where they remain competitive.
Their mission is to build an intergenerational community of bowlers at the Seymour VRI Bowling Club. for the 2026/27 season and they’re seeking a motivated and passionate individual to take on a dual role as both player and coach. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing coaching, guidance, and support to individuals and teams across all skill levels, with a focus on developing technique, strategy, and overall performance.
This is a paid position, and remuneration will be discussed upon your interest, and availability of time for the role.
