Job summary

NEPEAN Conveyors is seeking experienced Mechanical Service Technicians to join our field service team. Working across mining, steel, ports, quarrying, and heavy industrial sites, you will install, maintain, shutdown, and commission conveyor systems and related equipment.

Based in NSW with travel across sites, you will represent NEPEAN on customer sites, manage equipment breakdowns, perform installation and maintenance tasks, and complete service reports and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade qualification required (Fitter/Boilermaker or equivalent).
• Conveyor maintenance experience highly advantageous.
• Full driver’s license; on-call may be required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to obtain forklift, dogging, EWP and heights certs.

Responsibilities

• Represent NEPEAN Conveyors on client sites during service activities.
• Manage customer concerns and equipment breakdowns on site.
• Conveyor installation and maintenance activities.
• Install and replace rollers, idlers, pulleys, and belt cleaners.
• Pulley and drive component change-outs.
• Conveyor structure assembly and modifications.
• Align and commission conveyor systems.
• Shutdown maintenance and breakdown response.
• Mechanical inspections and condition assessments.
• Work safely per site and company procedures.
• Complete service reports and project documentation.
• Provide on-site maintenance support; assist as needed.
• Undertake additional works and troubleshooting; some workshop tasks.

Our Opportunity

We have exciting opportunities for Service Technicians to join the team, based in the Gulgong/Mudgee area, with regular client support.

Daily Duties Will Include

• Represent NEPEAN Conveyors while engaged by our customers on their sites for service activities
• Manage customer concerns and equipment breakdowns on site
• Conveyor installation and maintenance activities
• Installation and replacement of rollers, idlers, pulleys, and belt cleaners
• Pulley and drive component change-outs
• Conveyor structure assembly and modifications
• Alignment and commissioning of conveyor systems
• Shutdown maintenance and breakdown response
• Mechanical inspections and condition assessments
• Working safely in accordance with site and company procedures
• Completing service reports and project documentation
• Provide support for maintenance on site
• Undertake works as required, in addition to inspections and troubleshooting
• Some internal workshop responsibilities when not in the field

The Ideal Candidate For This Position Would Have

• Mechanical Trade Qualification (Fitter, Boilermaker or similar)
• Conveyor maintenance experience, and conveyor knowledge highly advantageous
• Full Driver’s License - you may be required to be on call at times
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to strategically evaluate and solve complex problems
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain
• Dogging certification or willingness to obtain
• EWP certification or willingness to obtain
• Working at heights certification or willingness to obtain
• Order 45 or equivalent mining inductions
