Job summary

BYD Harmony Auto Australia Nowra is seeking a Service Technician to join our team, part of a flagship BYD store in NSW. You will perform maintenance and repairs on BYD vehicles, diagnose issues, and ensure safety and quality in a modern workshop.

Qualifications

• Qualified automotive mechanic with Certificate III or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• EV experience is a plus but not essential; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on BYD vehicles per manufacturer guidelines.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with diagnostic equipment.
• Complete service documentation and maintain records.
• Ensure high safety and quality standards in workshop.
• Collaborate with service advisors for timely service delivery.
• Maintain a clean, organized, compliant workshop.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on BYD vehicles in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment
• Carry out inspections, road tests, and fault finding
• Complete service documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping
• Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard, with a strong focus on safety and quality
• Keep up to date with BYD's latest service procedures and technology (EV training provided)
• Collaborate with service advisors and workshop staff to ensure timely and efficient service delivery
• Maintain a clean, organised and compliant workshop environment

Requirements

• Fully qualified automotive mechanic (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with modern vehicle systems (EV experience a plus, but not essential)
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive attitude
• Good communication skills and a team player mindset
• Valid Australian driver's licence
