Job summary

Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia seeks an experienced Service Manager to lead the Emerald Service Department in Queensland. The role has full accountability for the department’s operational and financial performance, including safety, labour recovery, WIP and customer satisfaction.

You will drive productivity across workshop and field service operations, collaborate with Parts and Administration, and mentor a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety and quality

Qualifications

• Proof of strong leadership experience managing large service or maintenance teams in mining/construction.
• Solid commercial acumen with experience managing departmental budgets and P&L.
• Advanced capability in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to analyse data, manage priorities, and make sound commercial decisions.

Responsibilities

• Hands on leadership and development of the service team.
• Take full ownership of the department P&L, budgets, forecasting and financial performance.
• Drive commercial outcomes and productivity across workshop and field service operations.
• Actively manage WIP, safety and driving total customer satisfaction.
• Ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with Parts, Customer Support and Administration to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and performance.
• Support workforce planning, recruitment, succession planning and apprentice development.
• Build strong relationships with customers and provide leadership in a fast-paced service environment.
