Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking a hands-on underground operator for a FIFO role from Perth. You will install and maintain critical underground infrastructure and support services to keep the mine running safely and efficiently.

Reporting to Underground Production, the role suits someone who solves problems, works well in a team, and takes pride in delivering quality work under demanding conditions. This permanent, full-time position includes a site allowance and strong leave provisions.

Qualifications

• Underground mining experience as a Nipper and Truck Driver.
• Strong safety focus and compliance mindset.
• Commitment to teamwork, collaboration and strong communication skills.
• Physically fit and experienced working in challenging environments.
• Current manual Driver’s License.
• Current Dangerous Goods Security Card and Working at Heights.
• Able to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain underground services such as ventilation, water, power, compressed air, and pump systems.
• Operate tools and mobile equipment (EWPs, ITCs, light vehicles, hydraulic machinery) to support underground operations.
• Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance while managing risks and minimising downtime.
• Assist with development and production crews to ensure safe and efficient operations.

• FIFO from Perth | 8/6 days, 7/7 nights rotating roster at Granny Smith

The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll deliver critical underground infrastructure and support services that keep the mine running safely and efficiently, through installing and maintaining ventilation, water, power, compressed air, and pump systems.

Reporting to the Supervisor Underground Production, this is a hands-on and fast-paced role suited to operators that take pride in their work, solve problems and work collaboratively in a team.
