Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking a Nipper to support underground operations at the Agnew gold mine. FIFO from Perth on a rotating roster (8/6 days, 7/7 nights) and a direct pathway to operator roles.

This role focuses on assisting underground crews with ground support, waste removal and general tasks to keep operations safe and productive. The successful candidate will work closely with production and development teams, maintain safety standards, complete pre-starts, and contribute to a positive safety

Qualifications

• Underground mining experience preferred (Nipper or Truck Driver)
• Physical fitness for demanding underground work and shift patterns
• Strong safety culture and compliance mindset
• Ability to work in a team and follow directions
• Valid manual Driver’s License is required
• Current DG Security Card and Working at Heights
• Willingness to obtain National Police Clearance as required

Responsibilities

• Support underground crews with equipment delivery, waste removal, ground support, and general assistance
• Assist Jumbo operators with bolting, meshing, heading setup and service crew activities as required
• Complete pre-starts, identify hazards and report safety concerns
• Maintain fitness-for-work on rostered days and contribute to a strong safety culture

The Opportunity

As a Nipper, you’ll play a vital underground support role, working alongside underground production and development crews to keep operations running smoothly and safely.

Reporting to the Underground Shift Supervisor, this is a physically demanding and fast-paced role that provides a solid foundation and genuine pathway to underground operator roles.
