Job summary

Advanced Service Centre in Toowoomba is seeking an experienced automotive service advisor/parts interpreter to join our independent workshop. Working directly with the owners, you will manage service bookings, invoicing, parts quoting, and daily vehicle hand backs.

The role suits someone with dealership experience, strong computer skills, and a knack for rapid problem solving. There is potential to broaden responsibilities into office management with demonstrated reliability.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers by phone and email to book services.
• Invoice service and repair work and process payments.
• Sell add-on repairs as required and manage vehicle handovers.
• Look up and order parts using third-party catalogs and liaise with workshop.
• Provide daily quotations for service and repair work.

Job description

Advanced Service Centre is currently seeking an experienced automotive service advisor/parts interpreter for our independent mechanical workshop in Toowoomba. Working directly with the owners of the business, the suitable candidate will be capable of carrying out all tasks related to automotive repair administration including, but not limited to;

• Day to day customer interaction including arranging service bookings by phone and email, invoicing service and repair work, selling add-on repairs as required and receiving/handing back vehicles daily
• Looking up and ordering service and repair parts using third party part catalogues and communicating with the workshop team to ensure correct parts are quoted/ordered
• Daily work quotations including service work and minor to major repair work

This position would suit an experienced dealership Service Advisor who is looking to broaden their skill set or have a larger variation of day-to-day duties. For a suitably motivated and competent candidate, there is available scope to upskill and move into an office manager type position at a later date.

The successful candidate must possess the following attributes:

• A proven history in automotive customer service and the ability to build and maintain rapport with an existing client base
• A high degree of computer literacy
• The ability to think on their feet and problem solve on the fly
• Dealership experience as either a service advisor/parts interpreter
• Some mechanical knowledge would be an advantage as the position includes detailing repairs carried out to our clients

Although not mandatory, experience with European brands/vehicles would be a significant advantage.
